Congratulations are in order for Dr Rees, Dr James and the team at our Yeadon Branch for the excellent feedback they have received for Medical Student Teaching from the University of Leeds for the last academic year 2019/2019! The practice has a strong teaching ethos and we are committed to growing doctors for the future. We currently take medical students in their undergraduate training, foundation year junior doctors who are within the first two years of practice, as well as GP registrars who are doctors that have chosen to further specialise in General Practice.
Comments received within our medical student feedback included:
“All staff were friendly and accommodating. Our timetable was oragnised and balanced well and it was clear where we needed to be and when. The doctors took time to carefully discuss the context of each patient and would explain why they were there…..”
” Doctors enthusiasm for teaching”
“The relevance of forming long lasting relationships and how this impacts the way a patient speaks to a doctor”
” Really nice team, highly co-operative and supportive and go the extra mile to ensure we make the most out of our placement”
“The lead GP was incredibly helpful and very willing to take time out to teach us anatomy and physiology”
Particular mention was made of the teaching from Dr Rees, Dr Yardley and Dr Fox Male who were awarded “Green Cards” for their efforts. Well done all!
We were also delighted that our previous GP registrar Dr Emma Jackson completed her training earlier this year and has stayed on with us now as a permanent mamber of staff and is working from our Rawdon Branch. Congratulations Dr Jackson!
As a practice we would really like to thank all those patients who kindly give their time and allow students and junior doctors to be part of their consultations and care. It would not be possible without you.Thank you!
