Shielding Letter Apology from Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust – Aire Valley Surgery

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Please do not book a GP appointment or attend your GP practice if you have symptoms associated with Coronavirus, including a new continuous cough or high temperature. If you are concerned you have symptoms that require assessment then please use the NHS 111 Coronavirus Online Service  If you do not have online access, then please use the NHS 111 telephone service. In order to protect patients and staff please DO NOT come to the practice unless you have been invited to do so by one of our clinical team. All GP appointments are currently via telephone or video in the first instance and your need will be triaged. All prescriptions will be sent electronically to designated pharmacies. All appointments are currently bookable by phone, or by using our online reception. Appointment booking through SystmOne online is currently not available. If you need to cancel your appointment you can do so online via our website without the need to login, or by phone.

We have received an apology from Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust that a number of patients have received a shielding letter in error

We’re aware that a number of patients have been incorrectly advised by LEEDS TEACHING HOSPITAL TRUST that they belong to the shielding cohort. If you have received a text message/phone call from the National Shielding service but don’t think you are at high risk then contact the hospital PALS team by e mail. 

Leeds Teaching Hospitals  will write to these patients to apologise and inform them of this error.
